Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

Another Blog Hop. Woo Hoo! I Love that some companies are now opening up their blog hops to their customers! Yeah!!

This month’s challenge is to show off skills you’ve learned from a fellow stamper. I’ve learned a lot about layouts from Mishie. I’m 99% sure that the layout I copied for this card was hers.

PTI car baby card

I’m afraid the colours look a bit weird here. Sometimes I have the worst time getting the colours to look right. Same set up, same lighting, same background and camera settings; one picture’s colours are perfect, the next isn’t. I find pastels are the hardest to get right.

Everyone who knows me, knows that baby cards are my favourite. I love how this card is soft and pretty but not a typical baby card at all. Whomever thought to add a baby sentiment to this set was a genius! I was very proud that I got the outline, solid stamp and the licence plate stamp all lines up perfectly! The first time I ever used it too.

Another tip I learned from someone on the PTI DT was to line up the headlights when stamping the solid image to get it lines up perfectly; glad I remembered that because it worked so well! no idea where, but I also learned the embossing technique I used for the background out there in blogland. It was perfect to add texture without adding another colour or pattern.

Enjoy, Rebecca

  1. Absolutely precious card! I love the details with the lace, buttons and patterned papers. Love the way you attached the car with the ribbon. Truly, a stunning project!

  2. What a totally and completely cutie girly bug you've created here – your elements are just perfect! This is so pretty – and I'm thrilled that you were a Hop winner!

  3. I don't have this set, but your card and experience stamping it for the first time has convinced me. You did a great job lining it all up and the papers you chose are perfect. Great job on the blog hop.
