Double Challenge Quilted Friendship Card

This card is for the PTI Blog Hop and Mojo Monday this week.

The inspiration photo this month (see below) was so pretty and I was inspired by the mixy matchy fabric patterns. So I also chose  floral, stripe and polka dot patterns.

I cut the paper with the die from Button Boutique. I love that little guy! It wasn’t quite as hard as I thought to keep the papers lined up. I just used a clear ruler to guide me as I laid them down. The spool was stamped on kraft paper and cut out. I thinned out the middle section of the spool to allow for the thickness of the floss. Wouldn’t this be cute paper pieced too?

  1. What a fabulous card! I especially like the fun little spool with thread!Rebecca, I just popped by to say thank you so much for the wonderful tips you left on the Create blog. I have recently pulled out my sewing machine (after far too many years of neglect) to use it on my paper projects. I appreciate the great information you provided. Thanks so much!

  2. WOW – that sketch and the stamp set were meant for each other! I LOVE this card – those OA papers are so pretty, and I never did get them – so I love seeing others' projects with them. I just LOVE your card!

  3. Love the paper patchwork swatches and wound bobbin. Sewing themed cards are a great favourite of mine and this is a first class example!
