If Life Gives You Limes…

…make margeritas! Our challenge this week at Crazy 4 Challenges was to use an umbrella. While looking through some beach stamps to see if I had a beach umbrella, I found the stamp set with drink images!

The background was water coloured with uneven bright sap green stripes on cheap watercolour paper. If you bought student grade paper and then went on to buy better stuff for painting, this is a great way to use up that cheapie paper! For the lime paper, I actually coloured the paper because it used to be lemons! Very resourceful I thought! I coloured some lime and lime wedge images for inside the shaker; two are glued down so they wouldn’t fall to the bottom and two are free floating.

The drink image originally had a kiwi on the edge of the glass so I added the lime slice image overtop! The blender jug has flecks of the drink all over the upper section to mimic how it would look after blending. The shaker is filled with sequins from the dollar store of all places, microbeads and the background is sponged with a couple of PTI inks.

Come on by and join me and team for another fabulous challenge. It’s great to see some of you coming out and playing with us!

Enjoy, Rebecca
